Our WHY
The hallway is more than just a space between rooms; it’s a pathway of connection and transition, leading to new opportunities and destinations. In education, hallways symbolize the moments of preparation, reflection, and growth that happen before stepping into the classroom. At Hallway Tutors, we embrace this symbolism. Our mission is to serve as the bridge between where a student is now and where they aspire to be. Like the hallways in a school, we provide the guidance and support needed to navigate challenges, fill in the gaps, and help learners enter their next level of understanding with confidence.
Literacy is a major problem within the United States of an America and with the use of technology, it seems as though the rates should be growing but they are in fact, declining. Our young people today are not fully prepared to step into the real world because they lack fundamental reading comprehension skills. We want to rectify this issue through personalized tutoring. But WHY do we do this work? As a Christian, follower of Jesus Christ, I firmly believe that I have been called by God to mentor and foster growth in young people through the teaching of literacy. It is our mission to serve all communities and we intend to do just that! This calling is my passion, and I am honored to guide and support students in their academic and personal journeys. Here at Hallway Tutors, I see tutoring as the hallway in education—a bridge that connects where a student is to where they need to be. Just as hallways provide a path to new opportunities and different spaces within a building, tutoring provides students with a clear path to academic success by filling in gaps and reinforcing the foundation needed for learning. My mission is to guide students through this path, offering support that helps them overcome obstacles and reach their fullest potential. Whether in New York or beyond, I believe personalized tutoring can help close achievement gaps and ensure every student has the tools they need to succeed.
